Your kids play chess. You don't.
Now you can still coach them.

Kaspar reads your kid's Chess.com or Lichess games and writes coaching reports for parents — not chess experts. You'll know what they're good at, where they can grow, and exactly how to help.

Why parents love it

Better questions than “How was your tournament?”

The hardest part of supporting a chess kid isn't chess — it's knowing what to ask. Kaspar gives you specifics.

How was the tournament?
K
Fine.
P
Did you win?
K
Some.
With Kaspar
P
I noticed you've been running out of time in your last few games. How were you feeling about the clock?
K
Yeah! I get nervous and I don't want to mess up so I keep checking…
P
Want to try a game where we just practice the clock together? No pressure on the moves.

Improving

What I see in Brooklyn's games

Brooklyn is getting good at winning by trapping the opponent's king — that's called “checkmate,” and it's the best way to win. They do this in about 1 out of every 3 games, which shows they're learning to spot patterns.

Biggest opportunity

Brooklyn runs out of time in 23% of their games. Every online chess game has a clock, and if your time hits zero, you lose — even if you're winning.

Try this together

Play a casual game where Brooklyn practices checking the clock after every 5 moves. Make it a game-within-the-game — you don't need to know any chess.

Experimenting

What I see in Sebastian's games

Sebastian is at a fascinating stage — past pure beginner patterns, starting to think positionally. Their Chess960 performance is 6% better than standard, suggesting strong positional intuition and reduced opening-memorization reliance.

Biggest opportunity

Sebastian builds strong positions out of the opening but struggles to convert in the middlegame. In their last 50 games, they had a winning advantage in 38% of eventual losses.

Try this together

After games, ask “What was your plan after the opening?” rather than “Why did you lose?” Review eval-bar swings on Chess.com analysis and discuss the critical moment together.

About Sebastian's report

What does “middlegame conversion” mean? How should Sebastian practice this?
“Middlegame conversion” means turning a good position into a win. Sebastian gets strong openings but isn't yet finding the right plans afterward.

Try this: after each game, ask Sebastian “what was your plan after the opening?” Focus on one idea at a time — like controlling open files.

Common questions

Everything parents ask before downloading

Do I need to play chess to use KasparChess?
Not at all. When you sign up, Kaspar asks about your chess background and adapts every report to your level. New to chess? You'll get plain language with concepts explained. Play yourself? You'll get proper terminology. Either way, you'll know exactly how your child is doing.
Does it work with Chess.com and Lichess?
Yes — both. Just enter your child's username on either platform and Kaspar pulls their public games automatically. No premium membership needed on either side. We're working on more platforms.
What ages is it designed for?
Children ages 4–17. We have specific guidance brackets for ages 4–6, 7–9, 10–12, and 13+, so the coaching advice always matches your child's developmental stage.
Is my child's data private?
Yes. We only use publicly available game data from Chess.com or Lichess — never private info. We don't store exact birthdates, only month/year for age-appropriate advice. We don't sell data, don't run ads, and don't use third-party analytics.
How much does it cost?
Free 2-week trial with no credit card. After that, plans start at $5.99/month — less than a single chess lesson. Cancel anytime from settings.
What if my child plays casually — is the report still useful?
Especially then. The reports focus on encouragement and family conversation, not competitive tactics. They help you support your child's relationship with chess regardless of how seriously they take it.
